The goal of this project was to redesign an album cover and the labels. It was assembled by hand and included an actual record. The target audience of this recreation is anyone inspired by 70s aesthetics, culture and fashion, whether they lived through it or not.

Superfly LP

The idea in mind for this project was to create a new Superfly cover that incorporated the hues of the original album sleeve while including coats since that is a common motif throughout the movie.

Inspiration

The original plan was to have a closet full of coats on the album cover but that did not have enough movement, so a photo of a clothesline was used instead. The front cover is a shot of a fur jacket from the back

Process

Final

The final product had text in the same area and color as the original, but in a different font. The images feature an increase in warmth to match the warm hues of the text, while providing a feeling of nostalgia. The labels have a circular gradient.
