In the house
The second dance music project I completed was In The House, a movie intro sequence for a movie about a pirate radio DJ who introduces a new genre to Europe despite conflict with authorities.
Inspiration
The primary inspirations of In The House were the lasers of raves in the 80s and 90s, the radar graphics of dreamscape rave posters, circular radio waves to indicate the impact of pirate radio, and the smiley face, which was the official symbol of the second summer of love.
Process
In early versions of the intro sequence, there were little to no transitional elements between scenes, and a distinct lack of contrast had to be adjusted. The scenes were gathered from both Adobe Stock and my camera roll.
final
The final result of In The House is one minute and nine seconds. It used a kaleidoscope effect to transition between scenes and certain stock footage was darkened to match the sequence's overall theme. Contrast was maximized throughout the scenes to make the colors pop more.
